bluebells & sycamores, calderdale, west yorkshire

A thick carpet of Bluebells growing beneath Sycamore trees at Calderdale, West Yorkshire. This wood is very local to me, and gets a fantastic carpet of Bluebells every year. It is quite wild though, so it can be difficult to find any kind of order among the mess of tree trunks and background bushes. This image was shot with a longer focal length to isolate a small area where the trees were slightly more uniform. I've photographed the Bluebells in this wood in differing light, and prefer the colour of this image with softer, overcast light, over other versions with warmer light and brighter colours.
