Beech trees through the mist at lower hopton wood, mirfield, west yorkshire

Some lovely subdued autumn colour at Lower Hopton Wood, near Mirfield, West Yorkshire. It's nice to photograph areas that you have a real connection with, and especially the odd occasion when it results in a decent image or two. Growing up only a ten minute walk from these woods, they were a playground for all sorts of activities as kids growing up, so always bring back fond memories. I take my own kids on walks through the woods now so they can play on a rope swing or climb the trees just like we did years earlier.
