Yorkshire Dales South

Yorkshire Dales South

The southern Yorkshire Dales offer a wealth of photographic opportunity. On this two day photography course/workshop, we’ll endeavour to capture the locations and subjects that define this most spectacular of areas. Wharfedale, Littondale, Malhamdale, Ribblesdale, Crummackdale, Kingsdale and possibly Dentdale are all within reach of our base near Settle. The kind of subjects we’re likely to encounter include; Typical Yorkshire Dales green valleys, dry stone walls and traditional stone field barns, waterfalls, Limestone Pavements, crags, cliffs and gorges, gnarly old Hawthorn trees and also many of the views which take in the fabulous Three Peaks of Ingleborough, Pen-y-ghent and Whernside.

I’ve been visiting the Dales now for over twenty years, and photographing them since around 1999/2000, so you can be assured that you will be guided to the very best locations, and also at the very best times of year to include any particular seasonal highlights.

The workshop is suitable for any level of photographer, including complete beginners looking to learn more, and get the very best images from their DSLR, as well as more experienced photographers looking to add a few new locations, and maybe get more help with composition and more advanced techniques. All tuition is tailored to individual requirement by way of a short questionnaire, and this allows you to add any areas of your photography that you have maybe struggled to get to grips with. We’ll also include at least one image review session over the weekend, and this will allow us to walk through some of the techniques used to process images in Photoshop and Lightroom.

Please ask if you would like me to arrange accommodation, or for recommendations of places to stay.
