Beginners workshop Wildlife Photography Hide day

Beginners workshop Wildlife Photography Hide day

This is a one to one Beginners workshop with a difference! We have access to not one, but two fantastic Wildlife Photography hides close to Leeds and also the wider, major motorway networks. As with all the beginner workshops, the day begins with a short theory session which covers how the camera works and also the fundamentals of exposure. We’ll then look at the different focussing modes on your camera, before getting set up and putting everything into practice. The main aim of the day as always, is to give you the confidence and understanding to take full control of your camera in manual mode and also to show you the settings to use for best practice. Although we’ll be practicing on live, sometimes moving subjects, the workshop will serve as a foundation for whatever type of Photography you may choose to pursue in the future.

The hides are situated beside a lake that already has lots of native wildlife present. An absolute multitude of bird species regularly visit the hide and are completely at ease with us Photographing them. Some species tend to visit more at certain times of year, but many are present all year round. You should expect to see; Jays, Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Bullfinch, Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Bluetits, Great Tits, Long Tailed Tits, Robins and Song Thrush. Kestrels and Sparrowhawks are also a regular visitor at certain times of year. This is a fantastic opportunity to view and Photograph all these species interacting with each other only feet away from the hide. The reflection pool is also available to us.

A typical day lasts around 6 hours and there are booking discounts for Photographers wishing to form their own group (max group size 4). Gift vouchers are also available if you’d like to buy the workshop for a friend or family member.
